Goldstone is made from glass, with sparkly appearance. Legend says it was developed in Italy in the seventeenth century by a glass making family called Miotti, who were looking for a perfect glass making technique. The technique melts different metals and glass materials together to form shiny polished stones. It comes in dark indigo, green or the original copper based vibrant orange brown colour and can be polished and carved into different shapes.  
 
Even though goldstone is not a gemstone, it is often used in jewellery and other decorations due to its attractive appearance. Many believe it has magical gemstone like properties and it is often used with crystals and stones.
